Nineteen-year-old Belgian midfielder Nicolas Verkooijen is set to leave PSV on a free transfer at the end of the season after deciding not to accept the club's contract proposal. Sparta Rotterdam is among the clubs interested in the Belgian U21 international, who has made five official appearances for PSV's first team this season. In the Keuken Kampioen Divisie, he has recorded two goals and two assists in eight appearances for the U21s. Both FC Utrecht and Sparta Rotterdam are seeking to sign Verkooijen, and interest has also been reported from Belgium. Verkooijen himself has previously stated that there is interest from multiple clubs, including from Germany, and that he will consider his options with a number of people before making a decision. His current market value is €600k, according to Transfermarkt.
