Nick de Groot has completed a transfer from FC Den Bosch to Fortuna Sittard. According to various media, Fortuna paid 250,000 euro for the defender. Nick de Groot stated that several clubs were interested in him, both domestically and abroad. In an interview with Brabants Dagblad, he said regarding the foreign country that it was not far from here, adding that he would leave it at that. De Groot said Fortuna gave him the best feeling and that the club had thoroughly researched him and consciously chosen him.

According to regional outlet DTV Nieuws, Fortuna Sittard is highly likely to sign Dutch defender Nick de Groot from FC Den Bosch. The club's technical manager, Jesper Gudde, confirmed there is significant interest in the 24-year-old, who is expected to transfer to the Eredivisie. DTV Nieuws also reports that de Groot has already agreed to personal terms with Fortuna Sittard. His contract with the Keuken Kampioen Divisie club reportedly contains a buyout clause of 250,000 euros, an amount Fortuna is prepared to pay. The defender has one year remaining on his current contract with FC Den Bosch. According to Transfermarkt, his current market value is €400k.
