West Ham has expressed interest in Lille's Belgian-Congolese defensive midfielder Ngal’ayel Mukau. The club has initiated contact with the player's representatives. Mukau, who is under contract with Lille until June 2028, reportedly views a move to the English championship favorably as he is a fan of the league. Lille is asking for more than 20 million euros to enter into transfer discussions, which exceeds the player's market value of €15.00m as estimated by Transfermarkt. The 20-year-old has made 36 appearances and scored 2 goals across all competitions in the 2024-2025 season. Everton is also reportedly interested in the midfielder. This interest follows Lille's recent sales of Lucas Chevalier to PSG for 55 million euros, including bonuses, and the anticipated departure of Bafodé Diakité to Bournemouth for 40 million euros. West Ham is looking to strengthen their midfield this summer by acquiring the talented player from Lille.
