Nélson Monte Transfer from Málaga to Almería

Marca reports on the unexpected departure of Nelson Monte and its impact on Málaga's squad planning for the 2025/26 season. The unexpected departure of Nelson Monte has completely altered the plans of Loren Juarros in assembling Málaga's squad for the 2025/26 season. Monte's transfer to Almería is confirmed, bringing nearly 400,000 euros to Málaga's coffers. This operation allows Málaga to recover the recent investment in Adrián Niño and frees up one of the highest salaries in the squad, providing economic leeway to incorporate a reliable defender.

Nelson Monte, a Portuguese defender previously with Málaga, has been transferred to Almería, where he has signed a contract valid until June 30, 2028. Monte had an additional season remaining in his contract with Málaga. He had earlier played for Almería in the 2022-2023 season and was instrumental in Málaga's promotion to LaLiga Hypermotion for the 2023-24 season. Monte had initially joined Málaga two seasons ago from the Ukrainian club SC Dnipro-1, making a notable contribution by participating in 69 official matches and scoring three goals. His exit from Málaga coincides with the departure of several other players, including forwards Roko Baturina and Dioni Villalba, as well as midfielders Manu Molina, Kevin Medina, Juan Hernández, Antoñito Cordero, and Yanis Rahmani.
