West Ham have shown an interest in Morgan Whittaker's situation this summer, but ultimately decided against pursuing a transfer.

Brown told Football Insider on 5 August that West Ham scouts have been monitoring Morgan Whittaker and have considered making an approach to sign him from Middlesbrough.

According to a report from TalkSPORT, West Ham United are considering a move for Middlesbrough's 25-year-old English winger Morgan Whittaker. Whittaker joined Middlesbrough from Plymouth Argyle in January 2025 for a fee that could increase to £7.5 million and has three years remaining on his contract. During the 2025-26 Championship season, he scored 14 goals and provided seven assists. A potential sale of Whittaker could be facilitated by Boro's own transfer activity, as they have been linked with Tottenham attacker Mikey Moore, which might make a departure possible if the right price is offered. Whittaker, who has one cap for England U20, has also been linked with Trabzonspor. His current market value is estimated at €18.00m by Transfermarkt, and in June 2026 it was reported that Middlesbrough's valuation was significantly higher than a potential suitor's record transfer of £7.5 million.
