Sporting CP are pursuing 17-year-old left-back Moncef Zekri and have reached an agreement with KV Mechelen for a transfer valued at €3.5M plus bonuses. The Moroccan player was not part of the squad for the match against Standard. However, the deal is not yet finalized, advanced discussions are still ongoing, and the situation remains open. Zekri joined Mechelen in July 2025, has a contract until 2028, and has 20 caps for the Morocco U17 team. His current market value is €4.00m, according to Transfermarkt. Several other clubs, including Inter, Brentford, and LOSC Lille, have also been associated with him.
