Apau, who played a crucial role as captain in Telstar's unexpected promotion, faced a difficult decision between remaining with Telstar or transferring to Spakenburg, a decision he ultimately reached after several days of contemplation. Although he will be playing for Spakenburg, Apau will not completely sever ties with Telstar, as he plans to assist the technical staff next season, allowing him to maintain an occasional presence at the club.
