David Terans Transfer from Fluminense to Peñarol
According to Globo.com, David Terans was loaned by Fluminense to Peñarol until the end of the year, with Peñarol paying 100% of his salary and the contract including an option to buy. Terans suffered a serious left Achilles tendon injury during training at Peñarol and has been sidelined since October. The agreement between the clubs allows for an automatic extension of the loan during his treatment period, so Terans is expected to stay in Uruguay for at least three more months. The minimum extension period is three months, meaning Terans will remain at Peñarol until at least March 2026. Both clubs are still discussing a longer extension, as Peñarol wants to keep Terans until the end of 2026. This would coincide with the end of his contract with Fluminense.
Fluminense and Peñarol have agreed to loan David Terans to the Uruguayan club for a year, pending Terans' decision. Peñarol's manager, Diego Aguirre, is eager for a swift response as they prepare for the Uruguayan Super Cup and the CONMEBOL Libertadores. Terans, who had a successful stint with Peñarol from 2020 to 2021, could reunite with former Fluminense player Léo Fernández. Peñarol, aiming to strengthen their squad, values Terans' past record of 43 appearances, 18 goals, and 3 assists with them. Terans is contracted with Fluminense until 2026, where he played 17 games, scoring once and assisting once.
