Cruz Azul has reached an agreement to sign 32-year-old Colombian forward Miguel Borja, a former Palmeiras player who was with River Plate from 2022 to 2025. According to information initially published by TV Azteca, Borja will leave River at no cost after being released by coach Marcelo Gallardo at the beginning of the month. An arrangement is already in place between Borja's staff and Cruz Azul, but the signing is expected to be finalized after the Intercontinental Cup, if no complications arise. The forward has been capped 30 times for Colombia, scoring 9 goals, and was also linked with clubs such as Tigres UANL and América de Cali.
