Reggiana, which has been interested in bringing back 36-year-old Italian midfielder Michele Castagnetti from Cesena for several weeks, has reportedly accelerated the process recently by reaching a contractual agreement with the player. Corriere Romagna reports that the club has agreed to a two-year deal that would give Castagnetti a central role in Attilio Tesser's team. The transfer is conditional on Reggiana first selling a midfielder to free up a spot, with Argentine Tobias Reinhart considered the most likely candidate to be sold, though there are currently no offers for him. If the transfer is completed, Castagnetti would leave Cesena after one season, and Cesena has reportedly identified Gerard Yepes of Empoli as a potential replacement. Castagnetti's contract with Cesena expires on 30/06/2027, and his current Transfermarkt market value is €250k.
