Chelsea are prepared to compete with Arsenal for Brentford's full-back, Michael Kayode, who is also being monitored by Man City, Tottenham, and Borussia Dortmund. Chelsea's pursuit comes despite having Reece James and Malo Gusto, although it is reported that Gusto's long-term future at the club is not guaranteed. Kayode joined Brentford in July 2025 on a contract until 2030, and while his transfer from Fiorentina was for a reported sum of €17.5M, some reports in March 2026 suggested Brentford's asking price is over £60M.
