According to the German branch of Sky Sports, PSV want to attempt to sign Augsburg talent Mert Kömür and have identified him as their first transfer target for the summer. Scouts from interested clubs reportedly attended Kömür's last match for Germany Under 21. It is expected that talks for his transfer will begin soon.

PSV Eindhoven is one of several clubs interested in German-Turkish U21 national player Mert Kömür. AC Milan, SSC Napoli, and FC Porto are also reportedly monitoring the 20-year-old attacking midfielder. In the current Bundesliga season, he has scored 3 goals and provided 1 assist in 2 appearances. His current club, Augsburg, is said to be open to a sale in the summer if a top offer is made, and talks about his future are expected to take place soon. Kömür has a contract with the Bundesliga club until 2029. The club previously rejected an offer of twelve million euros from Besiktas in the winter. A report from February 2026 indicated that Augsburg might be willing to negotiate for a package significantly exceeding €15 million. His current Transfermarkt market value is listed at €12 million.
