Fenerbahçe has taken action to sign Turkish goalkeeper Mert Günok, a former product of their youth academy, following his exclusion from the Beşiktaş squad. The plan to bring back the 36-year-old, who left the club for Bursaspor in 2015, is contingent on the departure of current goalkeeper İrfan Can Eğribayat, who has suitors from Poland. Günok, who joined Beşiktaş in August 2021 and has made 8 appearances in the Süper Lig this season, is a Türkiye international with 37 caps. His contract runs until June 2027 and his current market value is €500k, according to Transfermarkt.
