TYC reports that River and Independiente Rivadavia reached an agreement for Maximiliano Salas to be loaned to the Mendoza club for 12 months. The loan does not include a purchase option. The negotiation has progressed, and the 28-year-old forward is close to moving to Independiente Rivadavia on a one-year loan. The deal has not been finalized because some details regarding the player’s salary remain. Initially, River was opposed to covering part of the wages. It is not yet known if the club will change that position or if an agreement will be reached to share the costs between the loan fee and the player’s wages. A decision could be made in the next few days because the management decided to accelerate the departures of players not in the team's plans. The club is willing to agree to this type of loan now, and not only to permanent sales. The Argentinian forward joined River Plate in July 2025 and is under contract until the end of 2029. In the 2025/2026 Torneo Apertura, he made 12 appearances and scored 1 goal. His current Transfermarkt market value is €4.50m.
