Mattia Viti Transfer from Nice to Fiorentina
After a loan to Empoli for the 2024-2025 season, central defender Mattia Viti of OGC Nice is set to join Fiorentina in this summer transfer window. According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, both clubs have reached a verbal agreement for a temporary transfer of the Italian. Fiorentina will have a purchase option set at 4.5 million euros, while OGC Nice will retain 15% on any future resale. This move is considered a significant failure for OGC Nice, which had spent 15 million euros (including bonuses) to recruit him in August 2022.
Fiorentina is showing strong interest in Mattia Viti. The player spent last season on loan at Empoli but is currently under contract with Nice until 2027. The transfer is reportedly requested by Stefano Pioli, and it is structured as a loan with an option to buy for approximately 5 million euros. Viti's arrival could be linked to the departures of Argentinians Matias Moreno and Nicolas Valentini, who are being targeted by Hellas Verona. The negotiations have been initiated and Fiorentina may accelerate their efforts to secure this defensive addition as their third major signing of the season.
