Slovenian defender Matija Kavčič is leaving Celje on loan to join Brinje Grosuplje, as he is among the players the club no longer counts on. The 29-year-old left-back, who has one year left on his contract with the Slovenian champions, will not play for them this season. Kavčič joined Celje from Bravo in the summer of 2024 after being the league's top assistant and managed one assist in 21 matches. Having also had a loan spell at Polish club Stal Mielec, Celje was unable to sell him. He is expected to begin training today with Brinje Grosuplje, a newcomer to the 1. SNL. The former Slovenia U19 international has a current market value of €125k, according to Transfermarkt.
