Matia Barzić and Elche have extended their contract for two more years, with the contract now running until June 2030. Barzić signed the contract extension after his performance in pre-season under coach Martín Anselmi. The club officially announced the contract extension.

Matia Barzić, a defender for the Croatian U21 national team, has extended his contract with Elche, a Spanish second division club currently in sixth place, for an additional three years, as announced by the club on Thursday. Since joining Elche's first team this summer, Barzić has made nine appearances. The club regards him as a player for both the present and the future. Barzić, whose father is Croatian and mother is Spanish, signed the contract which will last until June 30, 2028.
