Negotiations between Matheus Martins from Botafogo and Dínamo Moscou were unsuccessful. Pavel Pivovarov, CEO of the Russian club, stated that the club did not announce the transfers as concluded, only that the players had arrived. Pivovarov said the note issued by Dínamo alleging medical problems in the athletes' exams was true. He explained that, considering the club's long-term objectives, the decision was made not to sign the contracts. Pivovarov said that both clubs are disclosing information and that it is the first time in his career this has happened. He added that an essential stage was not completed and that the club decided to abandon the transfers considering all risks.

Following the cancellation of Matheus Martins' transfer from Botafogo to Dinamo Mosca, the Flamengo club requested to see the medical exams conducted in Russia to understand the reasons for the cancellation. Dinamo Mosca did not accept the request.

Botafogo made its medical department available for clarification to the Russians and strongly disagrees with Dinamo Moscow's diagnosis, as Matheus Martins had been playing regularly. Due to the failed medical, Botafogo is considering legal measures and may take action against the Russian club for the alleged improper use of the player's image upon arrival at the Moscow airport and in the Russian press.
