Mateo Seoane, having terminated his contract with Vélez, has arrived in La Plata for medical examinations and is expected to be announced as the second reinforcement for Gimnasia, following Maximiliano Zalazar's arrival from Boca.

Mateo Seoane, a 21-year-old player, is set to join Gimnasia. He previously played for Rentistas in Uruguay last season. He will join Gimnasia on a free transfer after agreeing to leave Vélez. Vélez will retain 20% of any future sale. The agreement is yet to be put on paper, and Seoane will travel to La Plata for the necessary medical examination. He is expected to sign a contract for several seasons. Gimnasia and Vélez will be partners in this operation, which cost around 100,000 USD. Transfermarkt currently estimates his market worth at 400k euros.
