Mateo Mendia Transfer from Boca Juniors to Peñarol
Boca has rejected two offers from Peñarol for Mateo Mendía, the 21-year-old Argentinian captain of the club's Reserve team. In addition to the Uruguayan club's interest, Lanús is also seeking the central defender for a one-year loan with a purchase option, and it is possible an offer from Platense will be made. However, Boca is considering keeping the player, as the coaching staff led by Claudio Ubeda wants him available for the large number of matches in the upcoming season, unless another player is signed in his position. Mendía joined Boca Juniors in January 2025, and his contract is valid until the end of 2029. According to Transfermarkt, his current market value is €100k.
