Martín Payero, an Argentinian-Italian midfielder for Udinese, is searching for a new club after a mandatory purchase option in his loan deal at Cremonese was voided due to the team's relegation. Among the clubs that have recently shown interest in the 27-year-old are PAOK and Real Sociedad. Payero is under contract with Udinese until June 2027. During the 2025/2026 Serie A season, Payero made 25 appearances and scored one goal for Cremonese while on loan, and he has been capped twice for the Argentina U23 national team. The purchase obligation that lapsed was reportedly for €5 million. According to Transfermarkt, Payero's current market value is estimated to be €5.00m. He was transferred from Middlesbrough to Udinese in September 2023 for a reported €3 million.
