According to TyC Sports, which cited information from Turkey, PAOK Thessaloniki is one of seven clubs interested in acquiring Mauro Icardi through free agency. Mauro Icardi has been without a club since leaving Galatasaray during the summer.

PAOK considered Mauro Icardi as a transfer target this summer. After the sale of Giannis Konstantelias, Ivan Savvidis instructed his associates to pursue a major transfer for publicity reasons, and Icardi's name was discussed. However, an agreement on financial terms was not reached, and the transfer did not proceed.

PAOK Thessaloniki is reportedly one of several clubs interested in Mauro Icardi, a 33-year-old Argentine-Italian striker who is currently without a team. The Argentine striker has also apparently attracted interest from Atlético Mineiro in Brazil, various Serie A teams, and Olympiacos. Icardi has been linked with Olympiacos, a club he has been linked with in past transfer windows. A potential complication for any deal could be the player's contract expectations, as reports indicate Icardi is seeking a two-season contract, which might cause doubts for interested clubs because he is over 30 years old. The forward has 8 caps and 1 goal for Argentina and a current market value of €4.00m, according to Transfermarkt.
