Martijn Kaars Transfer from Magdeburg to St. Pauli

Martijn Kaars has officially transferred to St. Pauli from Magdeburgo. The 26-year-old Dutch forward had an impressive previous season, scoring 19 goals and providing 6 assists. In the current league season, he has already netted two goals and added another in the DFB-Pokal. The financial terms of the transfer remain undisclosed. Kaars is available for immediate inclusion in the team. Andreas Bornemann, the sporting director, described Kaars as a versatile attacker who meets their requirements. Meanwhile, coach Alexander Blessin noted his capabilities in both defense and offense. Kaars conveyed his excitement for the new challenge and appreciated the team's intense playing style.

St. Pauli has put forward a concrete transfer offer for Martijn Kaars, a 26-year-old Dutch player who netted 19 goals in the previous 2nd Bundesliga season and has already scored twice this season. The transfer came to light when fans snapped a photo of an email on Magdeburg's sports director, Otmar Schork's, laptop and shared it online. The email, sent by Carsten Rothenbach, head of St. Pauli's U23 and a close associate of sports director Andreas Bornemann, contained the purchase offer, a deadline, and plans for Kaars' medical examination. Kaars is reportedly heading to Hamburg, with only the finalization of the transfer remaining. Magdeburg has not confirmed the transfer and, in reaction to the leak, has expressed significant outrage, noting that the photograph was taken without permission through a nearly closed blind, and has lodged a complaint with the police. St. Pauli's acquisition of Kaars fills the last gap in their squad, adding competition to the attack alongside Andreas Hountondji and Mathias Pereira Lage.
