Middlesbrough have opened talks with Everton over a loan deal for 27-year-old Irish goalkeeper Mark Travers. The Championship side are closing in on a move that would see the player return to the Riverside Stadium, where he was previously on loan from Bournemouth. Travers has been keen to leave Everton in search of more game time, having made just two Carabao Cup appearances last season. It is reported that the Toffees are happy to facilitate a move. Football Insider had previously revealed that Wrexham were very interested in the goalkeeper, and Coventry were prepared to offer him a chance to remain in the Premier League. Middlesbrough are now in ongoing discussions with Everton. The goalkeeper has six caps for Ireland. Transfermarkt lists his current market value as €3.00m. Reports in July 2026 mentioned a release clause valued at approximately £4 million. His 2025 transfer from AFC Bournemouth to Everton was for a fee reported to be €4.6 million.
