Marino Hinestroza is close to moving to Vasco da Gama after the Brazilian club took advantage of stalled negotiations between the player's current club, Atlético Nacional, and Boca Juniors. The 23-year-old Colombian winger was reportedly expected to join the Argentine side, but their indecisiveness and attempts to prolong talks since December frustrated Atlético Nacional, who co-owns the player's rights with Columbus Crew. Vasco da Gama offered more than Boca Juniors, agreeing to the purchase for $5 million. The negotiation is structured in installments and will have a total cost of $6 million when including agent fees and commissions. The transfer is now awaiting final details. Hinestroza, who has two caps for Colombia, joined Atlético Nacional in February 2025 from Columbus Crew for a fee reported to be €1.4 million, and his contract was set to expire in December 2027. Transfermarkt estimates his current market value to be €4.80m, while Atlético Nacional's asking price during the recent negotiations was reported to be between $6 million and $8 million.
