Marcos Peña, the Spanish midfielder, has departed from Almería to embark on a new chapter in Portuguese football, having been announced as a new signing for Famalicão. The Portuguese club, led by Israeli magnate and Atlético de Madrid shareholder Idan Ofer, disclosed that they had reached an agreement with Almería for Peña's transfer. The 20-year-old has signed a four-year contract with Famalicão, which secured 7th place in the previous Liga of Portugal. Peña, who was nurtured at Almería and spent the last season on loan at Marbella, expressed that he made this career move as he believes it to be ideal for his personal and football development. He is set to join fellow Spaniard and former Real Madrid youth player Óscar Aranda at Famalicão, a club renowned for developing young talent. The club has previously helped nurture players such as Manuel Ugarte, now with Manchester United, Toni Martínez at Alavés, and Iván Jaime who plays for Oporto.
