Gigi Becali, the owner of FCSB, had been prepared to allow Edjouma to leave for a modest fee of 100,000 euros, a proposal that CFR Cluj had accepted. However, the situation became complicated when Edjouma insisted on leaving without a transfer fee and requested the remaining salaries until the end of the year, totaling approximately 70,000 euros. This demand angered Becali, leading him to block the transfer. Consequently, Edjouma has rejoined the team's program. Gigi Becali clarified that although Edjouma was initially permitted to move to CFR Cluj, the player's additional demands resulted in the cancellation of the transfer.

Mihai Stoica announced that Malcom Edjouma will transfer to CFR Cluj. Due to a contractual clause, further details could not be disclosed. Stoica assured that Edjouma is 100% moving to CFR Cluj.
