Malang Sarr Transfer from Lens to Anderlecht
Olivier Renard, the sporting director of Anderlecht, is reportedly on the verge of finalizing a major transfer for Malang Sarr. Sources indicate that Anderlecht and RC Lens have reached an agreement for Sarr to make a permanent move from France to Lotto Park. It is said that a two-year contract with an option for an additional season is prepared for him at Anderlecht. Insiders suggest that Sarr is viewed as the successor to Jan Vertonghen at Anderlecht, who concluded his career due to injuries. Once considered a top talent, Sarr played 23 matches for RC Lens last season and has a market value of 5 million euros. The 26-year-old French-Senegalese defender, who has had stints with Chelsea, FC Porto, and AS Monaco, is set to make a definitive move to Anderlecht, marking a significant strategic decision by Renard. Although Sarr's contract with RC Lens extends until 2026, he has been identified as an ideal candidate to succeed Vertonghen, who was the captain of Anderlecht before retiring due to ongoing injuries. Renowned for his left-footed play, Sarr has accumulated extensive experience at the highest levels of football, having advanced through all the national youth teams of France.
