In a reaction on the club's website, Vandevoordt stated that he was convinced to stay by the perspective presented by the club's management.

Maarten Vandevoordt's new contract with RB Leipzig is valid until 2030. This is reported as a contract extension for the 23-year-old Belgian goalkeeper. He joined the club in July 2024 from KRC Genk for a fee reported to be €10 million. He is yet to make his senior debut for the Belgian national team. Transfermarkt estimates his current market value to be €8.00m. Vandevoordt has also been linked with Strasbourg.
