Sheffield United need to strengthen their defence for the Championship season and could renew their interest in Coventry City's English centre-back Luke Woolfenden, after being linked with him last year. The 27-year-old joined Coventry City in September 2025. It is possible his game time with the newly-promoted Premier League side will be limited, as he was primarily used as a backup last season and made only 18 appearances. Woolfenden is contracted until June 2028, which would require a fee for a permanent transfer, and a loan deal is also considered a potential option for Sheffield United. His current market value is €2.00m, according to Transfermarkt.
