Lukas Ullrich: Borussia Mönchengladbach Contract Extension

Borussia Mönchengladbach has officially announced that Lukas Ullrich has extended his contract early until 2029. Ullrich's previous contract was set to expire in 2027. Sportchef Rouven Schröder said that Ullrich is in his third season with the club and has developed well. Schröder added that after a first year of acclimatization, he established himself as a Bundesliga player last season and regularly showed his great potential in a demanding position. According to Schröder, the club is convinced and expects that he will also take the next steps positively as an athlete and a personality, and they are pleased he sees his future with them. Ullrich stated that he still has a lot planned at Borussia and is grateful for the past two and a half years, but his time there is not over and he is looking forward to the future. The timing of the extension is described as surprising, as there had recently been speculation that Ullrich would first wait for the situation of Luca Netz. In the last five league games, Ullrich was not selected ahead of his positional competitor and was only substituted on once. Nevertheless, the club's management was able to convince Lukas Ullrich to sign the extension.

Borussia Mönchengladbach has extended Lukas Ullrich's contract by two years, until June 30, 2029. The agreement was reached following lengthy negotiations. According to information from BILD, the first contract offer from Rouven Schröder was reportedly below the previous conditions under Roland Virkus. Both parties are now satisfied with the agreement. Lukas Ullrich stated that he is happy about the contract extension, which includes significantly increased earnings, and that he looks forward to his future at Borussia.

Extending Ullrich's contract, which expires in 2027, is a top priority for Rouven Schröder. The sporting director recently confirmed that the matter is on the agenda and that talks are in progress.

Borussia Mönchengladbach has approached Lukas Ullrich with a contract extension offer. Previous slow negotiations have intensified before the U21-EM tournament. Ullrich is likely to sign a contract extension until 2029, with an option for an additional year, and a significant salary increase.

According to Bild, Lukas Ullrich is currently engaged in discussions regarding a contract extension with Borussia Mönchengladbach. Previously stalled, the negotiations have now recommenced ahead of the U21 European Championship in Slovakia. Borussia Mönchengladbach's sporting director, Roland Virkus, had expressed concerns about Ullrich's performance in the tournament potentially drawing interest from other clubs. The prospective contract is anticipated to extend until 2029, with an optional extension for 2030. Ullrich's salary is projected to increase to around 2.5 million Euros annually, supplemented by performance-based bonuses.

Discussions are set to begin in the coming weeks for an early contract extension with a salary increase. Ullrich's market value has increased from 750,000 Euros to 3 million Euros within a year.
