Borussia Mönchengladbach has approached Lukas Ullrich with a contract extension offer. Previous slow negotiations have intensified before the U21-EM tournament. Ullrich is likely to sign a contract extension until 2029, with an option for an additional year, and a significant salary increase.
According to Bild, Lukas Ullrich is currently engaged in discussions regarding a contract extension with Borussia Mönchengladbach. Previously stalled, the negotiations have now recommenced ahead of the U21 European Championship in Slovakia. Borussia Mönchengladbach's sporting director, Roland Virkus, had expressed concerns about Ullrich's performance in the tournament potentially drawing interest from other clubs. The prospective contract is anticipated to extend until 2029, with an optional extension for 2030. Ullrich's salary is projected to increase to around 2.5 million Euros annually, supplemented by performance-based bonuses.
Discussions are set to begin in the coming weeks for an early contract extension with a salary increase. Ullrich's market value has increased from 750,000 Euros to 3 million Euros within a year.
