Luis Eduardo Guedes de Souza Transfer from Gremio U20 to Chelsea
According to Spanish outlet Diario AS, Chelsea and Manchester United have initiated discussions with Grêmio for the 17-year-old centre-back Luis Eduardo, who gained more recognition following his performances for Brazil at the U-17 World Cup. The player signed a new contract with the Brazilian club earlier this year, which is reported to contain a €60 million release clause. The report from Diario AS also states that both Premier League clubs have already established contact and are anticipated to present formal offers in the upcoming weeks. Grêmio's intention is to keep the defender, but Manchester United might be reluctant to meet the high valuation for an unproven teenager because of financial constraints. Chelsea, in contrast, has a more aggressive transfer strategy for young players and could be more willing to pay a substantial fee for a player considered for the long term.
