Louis Munteanu Transfer from CFR Cluj to Valencia
According to Fanatik, two official offers arrived for Louis Munteanu from Rennes and Valencia in the summer. The transfer did not happen, which caused tensions at CFR Cluj and affected Munteanu's performance.
Cluj owner Ioan Varga stated that Valencia is currently one of the only clubs willing to pay the conditions set for Louis Munteanu, which are 15 to 17 million euros plus percentages and bonuses, allowing the transfer fee to rise to 20 million euros. Varga expects that the transfer discussion will resume in the winter transfer window.
Daily Record reports that Valencia and Ajax are leading the race to acquire Munteanu. The report states that they are currently the only clubs willing to pay 15-17 million euros plus percentages and bonuses, which could see the transfer fee rise to 20 million euros (£17.5million).
Valencia has proposed an alternative arrangement for Louis Munteanu's transfer, suggesting a loan deal valued at 2 million euros with a compulsory purchase clause for 10 million euros under specific conditions. Although Rennes has shown interest and is said to have submitted a 12 million euro offer for the 23-year-old Romanian forward after his outstanding season, where he scored 25 goals and provided 3 assists in 42 matches, the final decision will rest with the player and the Romanian club. Negotiations are anticipated to intensify shortly. Munteanu's current contract with his club is valid until June 30, 2028, and Transfermarkt estimates his market value at €5.00m.
