Lindon Emërllahu Transfer from CFR Cluj to FCSB
An update from Sport.ro regarding the Romanian champions' interest in Lindon Emerllahu reported that FCSB's general manager, Mihai Stoica, revealed that no further internal discussions have occurred on this matter. The report concludes that the potential transfer will most likely not happen.
Gigi Becali has expressed interest in midfielder Lindon Emerllahu. However, Iuliu Mureșan, the president of CFR Cluj, stated that the FCSB option is no longer relevant for Emerllahu. He said the matter is concluded, there is nothing more to discuss about the player and FCSB, and that there are no discussions of any kind.
According to Sport.ro, Lindon Emerllahu is a target for FCSB. The club was close to acquiring him, along with Louis Munteanu, from CFR Cluj for 4.5 million euros, but the transfer did not proceed because the top scorer from last season in Superliga demanded a higher salary than FCSB expected. The report states that Gigi Becali still intends to acquire the Kosovan midfielder from CFR Cluj and will make a new offer.
Gigi Becali is reported to have negotiated with Ioan Varga and proposed 4.5 million euro to transfer both Louis Munteanu and Lindon Emerllahu as a package. FCSB's financier did not wish to confirm or deny this. Mihai Stoica stated that nothing has been done and there were only discussions between Gigi and Neluțu Varga regarding negotiations with CFR Cluj for Munteanu and Emerllahu. Mihai Stoica commented that Emerllahu is a central midfielder, but the club must consider the amount paid for players. He referenced that Gigi paid 2.8 million euro plus VAT, exceeding 3 million, for Bîrligea. According to Gigi, Bîrligea has justified the investment.
According to the Kosovo press, Lindon Emerllahu would be among the most expensive transfers in the history of FCSB if his transfer to the club is completed. The move would also be seen as another example of success for Kosovar players in the Romanian league.
On Monday evening, Digisport asked Gigi Becali about information that FCSB had offered 4.5 million euros for the transfers of Louis Munteanu and Lindon Emërllahu from CFR Cluj. Becali did not confirm or deny this, stating he has a convention with CFR Cluj's Ioan Varga and cannot disclose negotiation details. He did describe Emërllahu, a 22-year-old Kosovan defensive midfielder, as a valuable, young, and promising player. In a separate interview for PRO TV, Andrei Cristea commented that the potential transfers of Munteanu and Emërllahu to FCSB would be a significant achievement, noting that both are highly rated players with a high price. Emërllahu joined CFR Cluj in February 2025 and has a contract until June 2028. Transfermarkt values him at €1.30m. The midfielder has made 12 appearances in the SuperLiga this season, scoring 4 goals and providing 2 assists, and has been capped 12 times for Kosovo, scoring once.
