Scottish centre-back Liam Gordon has signed for Gillingham on a two-year contract following his departure from Motherwell, where he was for two seasons. The 30-year-old is manager Gareth Ainsworth’s fourth signing of the summer. Gillingham signed the defender despite interest from several other parties. Gordon told the club's media team that he was very interested in the move when Gillingham made an approach and that he had a positive impression of the club after speaking with the manager and coaching staff. He also stated that he was delighted to be at the club. The transfer is conditional upon EFL ratification and international clearance. According to Transfermarkt, his current market value is €250k. In the 2025/2026 Scottish Premiership, Gordon made 13 appearances for Motherwell.
