Wolverhampton Wanderers showed interest in Lewis Dobbin, but Southampton has secured him.

Alan Nixon has reported that Aston Villa want a significant sum as part of any loan deal for Lewis Dobbin this summer amid interest from Wolves. The Premier League side are now seeking to have well over half of his wages covered. The fee required to sign him on a permanent basis is also understood to be large enough that another loan move is the most likely outcome at this stage. It has been claimed that Aston Villa are seeking up to £5 million to sell Dobbin permanently. Sheffield United were also linked with a move for the 23-year-old, but it has since been reported that they are behind rival clubs in the efforts to sign him.

Wolves are interested in signing English winger Lewis Dobbin, and the Lancashire Post reports that Southampton are also interested in the Aston Villa player. Middlesbrough, another Championship club, is also targeting the 23-year-old. He had a successful loan spell at Preston North End last season, where he scored 10 goals and provided eight assists in 39 games. According to the Lancashire Post, Aston Villa values Dobbin at between £9 million and £10 million, as the club is reportedly unwilling to make a loss on the £10 million fee they paid to Everton for him in 2024. Dobbin has been with Villa for two years without making a first-team debut and is likely to be sold in the coming weeks. His contract with the club runs until 2028, and he has previously been capped twice by England at U19 level. His current Transfermarkt valuation is €7.00m.
