Barcelona has made signing a new center-back a strategic issue due to the situations concerning Andreas Christensen and Ronald Araujo. The club would like to complete a transfer in January or by the summer at the latest; however, a winter move is considered impossible because their salary budget is overloaded. In their search, which is particularly focused on Germany, sporting director Deco has identified two interesting options: Konstantinos Koulierakis, a 22-year-old Greek international from Wolfsburg, and Luka Vušković. Both players are said to be demonstrating immense potential in the Bundesliga. Koulierakis has made 14 Bundesliga appearances this season and is under contract until June 2029. According to Transfermarkt, his current market value is €25.00m. He has also attracted interest from Tottenham and Liverpool. Reports from November 2025 suggested a bid of €35-40 million could open negotiations with Wolfsburg.
