Barrow AFC have signed 21-year-old Irish goalkeeper Killian Barrett from Sheffield Wednesday for an undisclosed fee. Killian Barrett signed an 18-month deal. Barrett said he was excited when he received the call about the interest and decided to pursue it to see what the next chapter of his life would be. He also said that he was only told about the move a few days prior and that after speaking with people at Sheffield Wednesday, he felt it would be a good move for his career. Head coach Paul Gallagher said he is delighted to be able to bring Killian to the club and looks forward to welcoming him to the group. Gallagher also said that with Ben’s injury against Tranmere expected to keep him out for a couple of months, they felt they needed to move quickly to add depth and secure a goalkeeper early on. Barrett, an Ireland U21 international, joined Sheffield Wednesday in July 2025 and made three appearances in the National League this season.
