Atlas announced on Friday through a press release the signing of Argentine Kevin Zenón from Boca Juniors. He becomes the latest reinforcement for the Rojinegros for the current championship.

According to Récord, Kevin Zenón’s arrival has forced Atlas’s board to make a complicated decision due to the limit on players not trained in Mexico, and Rodrigo Schlegel is the player who will depart to make room for the Argentine and finalize the deal. Atlas is working with urgency to make Schlegel’s departure official and, subsequently, complete the registration and formally announce Kevin Zenón’s arrival.

Argentine winger Kevin Zenón arrived in Guadalajara on Friday to undergo medical examinations and finalize his permanent transfer to Atlas from Boca Juniors. Atlas must first release a non-Mexican player to create a squad spot for Zenón before the transfer window closes at 19:00 on Friday. If the transfer is completed, Zenón is expected to be their final reinforcement for the current tournament.
