Grupo Pachuca is taking steps to acquire defender Kevin Lomónaco from Independiente, and the group's sporting director has traveled to Argentina for an exclusive meeting with the 23-year-old. While discussions are in an initial phase, the objective is to convince the player to join one of the teams under the group's ownership, which includes León in Mexico, Everton de Viña del Mar in Chile, Club Atenas de San Carlos in Uruguay, and Real Oviedo in Spain, noted as a potential European destination. If Lomónaco agrees, Grupo Pachuca will start negotiations with Independiente's management to present an offer. The Argentine club is seeking a fee close to 10 million dollars for the defender, acknowledging that he is a player they intend to sell since they will not be participating in international competitions. Independiente's coach, Gustavo Quinteros, had previously stated that he wished for the entire squad to remain intact.
