Kelechi Iheanacho's form at Celtic is providing the striker with an opportunity to secure a new contract with the Glasgow club. His current one-year deal is set to expire at the season's end. The decision about Iheanacho's future at Celtic is expected to be made by the club's next permanent manager, because the interim boss, O’Neill, will be stepping down in the summer. Keith Wyness, speaking to Football Insider, suggested that Iheanacho might have already been given a new contract if Celtic had a permanent manager in place. Wyness also suggested that the striker is playing for an option on his contract. Additionally, Wyness noted that a new manager could have a considerable influence on whether Iheanacho’s one-year option is taken up.
