Fortuna Sittard has signed 22-year-old goalkeeper Kaylen Reitmaier on a contract lasting until the end of the season, with an option for an extra year. The German-born player had been training with head coach Danny Buijs's squad for the past two weeks and impressed. Technical director Joris Mathijsen described Reitmaier as a young, talented goalkeeper, adding that he will have the chance to develop alongside two experienced players at the club. Reitmaier previously spent two seasons with Sparta Rotterdam after being signed from the Fortuna Düsseldorf youth academy. He will compete with Mattijs Branderhorst and Luuk Koopmans at Fortuna Sittard.
