Despite being under contract with Getafe until June 30, 2027, Getafe reportedly would not oppose his departure since he has not secured a regular position under coach José Bordalás, having participated in only 19 matches last season. Berrocal was Getafe's most costly acquisition in the last transfer window, having been purchased for 2,200,000 euros from Eibar.
