José Cifuentes leaving Rangers?

Daily Record reports on Jose Cifuentes' season-long loan switch to Toronto FC. Jose Cifuentes completed a season-long loan switch to Toronto FC on Friday. The MLS side has an option to buy him after the loan period.

The Daily Record reports on Jose Cifuentes's potential loan transfer to Toronto FC. Jose Cifuentes is closing in on a move to Toronto FC on a loan deal until next summer, with an option for Toronto to buy if he performs well. Originally brought to Rangers by Michael Beale in 2023, Cifuentes struggled to settle and was loaned to Cruzeiro in Brazil and Aris in Greece.

Jose Cifuentes is reportedly in talks for a five-month loan to Sport Club do Recife. Brazilian outlet RTI Sport claims talks have 'progressed'.

Jose Cifuentes could have his contract with Rangers terminated, allowing him to leave the club for free. Both Rangers and Cifuentes are open to this possibility to help him find a new club. A return to MLS is suggested as a potential next step for him, as he has struggled to integrate at Rangers.

Cifuentes was initially signed by Rangers for £1.2 million in the summer of 2023. However, after 20 appearances, he was loaned to Cruzeiro in Brazil, but the loan was terminated early. He then moved to Aris Thessalonika in Greece, where he made 30 appearances. Aris had an option to buy for £3 million, but they are negotiating a smaller fee due to financial constraints.
