Genk has decided to exercise the option in Joris Kayembe's expiring contract, according to Het Belang van Limburg. Samsunspor has reportedly shown interest in Kayembe. In the coming weeks, Joris Kayembe and the club will discuss their joint future, and Dimitri de Condé may be hoping to secure a transfer fee from somewhere.

In a conversation with Het Belang van Limburg, Samsunspor coach Thorsten Fink has denied that he hopes to bring Joris Kayembe to Turkey, following reports last week that the club was interested in the player. Fink said that Kayembe's name has not been discussed at the club. The coach stated it would not be logical, as they already have the Icelander Tomasson, a foreign top player, as a left-back. He added that if they are looking for a backup, the rules in Turkey mean it has to be a Turkish player. For the time being, there appears to be no concrete interest.

According to Africafoot, Samsunspor is interested in signing Joris Kayembe. Thorsten Fink, the current coach of Samsunspor and a former Genk coach, worked with Kayembe for one and a half years at Genk.

Joris Kayembe, a left-back and DR Congo international, is close to leaving KRC Genk, with his contract set to end in the upcoming June. The 31-year-old has made 26 appearances and scored once this season. Samsunspor in Turkey is interested in Kayembe, however, there has not yet been an official offer from the Turkish club. Kayembe, who joined Genk in July 2023, has 23 caps for his country and a current market value of €2.50m, according to Transfermarkt.
