Jordan James Transfer from Rennes to Leicester City

When asked if Rennes have a recall option in Jordan James' loan deal, Leicester City manager Marti Cifuentes shook his head. James is on loan at Leicester from the French club, and an option to purchase him at the end of his loan spell is held by Leicester. Cifuentes said James is a very important player for them and that they are very happy with him. The manager added that a plan for the player is in place at the club and that the most important thing is that he is happy there.

Leicester City manager Marti Cifuentes has suggested that Jordan James will remain at the club until the end of the season, amid rumours that Rennes might seek to re-sign the player in January due to his recent form.

Jordan James is set to leave Rennes on the last day of the summer transfer window. The 21-year-old Welsh midfielder, who has made 25 appearances and scored 1 goal during the 2024-2025 season, is reportedly not part of Habib Beye's plans for the team. According to L'Équipe, James is heading to Leicester on a loan deal with a purchase option exceeding 5 million euros. His contract with the French club runs until 2028, and his market value is estimated by Transfermarkt to be €8 million. Parma, Wrexham, and Ipswich Town had also been recently linked with the player.
