Jonny Otto Transfer from PAOK to Deportivo Alavés

Mundo Deportivo reports on Deportivo Alavés' signing of Jonny Otto as a free agent. Deportivo Alavés has announced the signing of Jonny Otto, a Galician defender who can play well on both flanks. He joins as a free agent after his contract with PAOK ended in June. The club and the player have reached an agreement to unite their paths until June 2027. Jonny Otto has been an international with Spain at all levels, previously playing for Celta and Atlético de Madrid, although he never played for Atlético in competitive matches.

Deportivo Alavés is reportedly interested in signing Jonny Otto from PAOK. The club has already initiated its first move to acquire the player. The transfer appears to be straightforward since Jonny Otto's contract with PAOK expires in just 5 days, requiring negotiations only for his salary. At 31 years old, Jonny Otto has previously played for Celta de Vigo and has spent six seasons in the Spanish league. According to the daily 'El Correo,' Alavés is actively looking for a dependable replacement following the conclusion of Manu Sánchez's loan, with Jonny Otto being their top choice. Last season, Otto participated in 35 matches, including 11 in the Europa League, and scored three goals, demonstrating his versatility and familiarity with the Spanish league. This potential transfer would represent Alavés's second signing of the summer after securing Pablo Ibáñez, as they aim to strengthen their defense with experienced players.
