Esbjerg has signed 21-year-old Danish centre-back Jonathan Foss from the Dutch club Roda JC, which marks his return to Denmark. Foss has signed a contract until 2029. He previously played for Club Brugge and Borussia Mönchengladbach after leaving OB in the summer of 2022. In the current season, he made 11 first-team appearances for Roda JC in the second tier of Dutch football. Foss has 7 caps and one goal for the Denmark U20 national team. In comments to EfB's website, Foss expressed happiness about the move following several instructive years abroad and mentioned that he was presented with a compelling plan and project. He also stated that his ambition is to help the club achieve promotion to the Superligaen and that he is looking forward to joining his new teammates. According to Transfermarkt, Foss has a current market value of €225k.
