Cesena has rejected an offer from Cagliari for goalkeeper Jonathan Klinsmann, and the deal is now considered unlikely to proceed. The valuation from the Sardinian club for the 1997-born American was deemed too low. The situation also complicates a potential move for Alessandro Di Pardo to Cesena, as his transfer from Cagliari was linked to the Klinsmann deal. Klinsmann, who also holds German nationality, joined Cesena in February 2024 and is under contract until June 2028, with a current Transfermarkt market value of €3.00m. During mid-2025, Cesena's asking price was reportedly between €3,000,000 and €4,000,000, while in August 2025, the asking price in talks with Palermo was reportedly around €2,000,000. The goalkeeper has not yet been capped by the USA national team.
