John Lundstram has joined Russell Martin’s Leicester City on a free transfer following his departure from Trabzonspor. The 32-year-old has returned to England from Turkey and signed a two-year deal at the King Power Stadium, which is subject to league and international clearance. Lundstram said he is delighted to be at the club, which he has played against before and always admired from afar. He added that he is ready for the next challenge in his career, is looking forward to meeting his teammates and the fans, and getting started. Lundstram also said that everyone knows the goal for this season and he is looking forward to trying to help the team achieve it.

John Lundstram was the second of three deadline day arrivals at Leicester City. The Leicester boss revealed he expected John Lundstram to be in training on Wednesday ahead of this weekend's match against Oxford United.

John Lundstram is set to sign for Leicester on a free transfer for his return to England. The 32-year-old's move is made possible by his impending release from Trabzonspor, as the Turkish club is set to pay off the remainder of his contract. It is understood that Leicester are well-placed to secure the midfielder, who spent last season on loan at Hull City and helped them earn promotion to the Premier League. The veteran, who also has experience with Sheffield United and Rangers, is reportedly on the verge of joining the Foxes. Lundstram had joined Trabzonspor in July 2024. He has one cap for England U20, and his current market value is €1.30m, according to Transfermarkt.
